When it comes to beauty, there are two things that I love to buy - makeup and perfume! I love perfume, I'm always looking for new fragrances to try and new brands; also I always ask for perfume for my Birthday and Christmas. As with my makeup, my perfume choices change with the seasons and so far this summer here are the fragrances I've been loving!

Something Personal

Today I decided to touch down on something a bit more personal and write about a topic I wouldn't usually express my voice upon. However I believe it's something every one lacks from time to time as. It's definitely something which has created many obstacles and hurdles throughout my past and there were times in which I felt like I was the only one. You must remember that no matter what, you are never alone!

Are they real..yes they're real

Mascara has got to be the number one beauty product which I can not live without. It is that one product that I can't even leave the house without having a coat or two of it on my lashes as it just makes me look much more awake and put together. I have never really consistently stuck to a certain mascara throughout my makeup loving years, however I do always seem to find myself coming back to the Benefit ones.

Ever been stuck in a rut of what topics to discuss over on your blog? It's a problem all bloggers struggle with from time to time. I usually find inspiration from other bloggers on what to post about although word of advice, it is so not cool to copy what they have written from word to word. Be original. That's where posts like this one come in handy to give you an idea of overall topics which you could post about, so I thought I'd give you a few of my own blog post ideas for when you're having writers block. Seven Deadly Sins Of Beauty

My Mum says I have a problem when it comes to beauty items, and I agree! I just can't help having to pick up the latest product everyone's raving about, or the ultra cute minis which are great for travelling but I just use at home instead. I'm also pretty sure I'm not the only guilty soul around here. So when I eyed this tag up over at the lovely Jasmines blog (p.s she's great so make sure y'all go read her blog) I just couldn't resist the urge of posting my responses to the deadly seven sins of beauty.

Natural Drugstore Makeup

I recently decided to "shop my stash" and dig out some drugstore pieces I haven't used in a while to create a natural makeup look for a day at work. I never used to be that keen on drugstore makeup, especially their mascaras and foundations as I can never find any which fit my sensitive skin needs nor match my skin tone. However it was only till a while ago that I have been loving some newly found pieces from the drugstore.

Battle Of The Beauty Reward Cards

Lets be honest! How many of you have a stash of reward cards in your purse ready for when you hit those makeup aisles of doom. Precisely, one for every store that stocks some sort of beauty items. It's an added bonus to be able to collect points with the purchase of products, which once enough has been earned to be redeemed, you can then exchange for something else of your choice. I currently have 5 reward cards sitting in my purse, so here's my thoughts on them, both pros and cons. Take note if your wondering which card is best to sign up for.

A-Z Of Beauty Brands

For today's post, I'm going to be sharing the love of some of my favourite brands out there in the beauty industry. To mix it up a little, I thought I would do it alphabetically and give one for each of the letter (minus a few) of the alphabet, an idea I saw over at ALO. It can be quite daunting keeping up with new releases all the time however there's nothing better than finding hidden gems out there or just simply trying a new product out for the first time.

As bloggers we all go through times of writer's block, the bane of a bloggers life, which can be quite daunting. Trying to keep up with new releases as well as creating unique, fresh content can be extremely difficult at times and deciding what to write about can be the mother of all blogging problems. Deciding upon a starting point can often be a challenge so today I thought I'd share my list of 20 beauty blog post ideas to get your creative ideas flowing!

Beauty Resolutions

So we all have our usual resolutions that we make at the beginning of each year, right? However, being the beauty blogger that I am, I thought it would make sense to compile a list of twelve beauty resolutions which I'd like to aim for this year. There are a few things out of my comfort zone although most of these goals are things that we should all be sticking to.

My Cheeky Sweet Spot

 

You'd be lying if you said you don't get excited over the array of gift sets which make an appearance over the festive season. They are one of my weaknesses within this beauty industry and I simply just can not help but splurge out on a handful of them. As Christmas has been and gone and as most sets are limited edition they will be almost impossible to get your mitts on, which means its almost pretty ridiculous writing a review on them mid January. I'm giving myself an exception for this one though as it is just too pretty to not be able to tell you about.

Benefit have always been one of those brands where I have been seduced by their packaging for every new product they release, which meant coming up to Christmas I couldn't wait to see what festive surprises they had lined up. The Benefit Cheeky Sweet Spot was one of those sets where as soon as I layed eyes on it, I knew it had to be mine. So I made it my mission to trace down, luckily being able to pick myself one up from my local Boots store at a bargain of £29.50.

First of all, the packaging is ultra cute, designed to look like an old fashion sweet shop. Inside you find six of their well known box o'powders and a mini whatsupp highlighter, including a booklet containing mini tutorials on how to use the powders for different looks. The powders are buttery soft and have just the right pigmentation which being a pale girl draws me to it even more meaning its not too hard for me to over do it on the ol' blusher. My two favourites of the bunch have got to be Rockateur and Dandelion which are great shades for all year round, adding a natural glow to the cheeks. Being a gift set, it was obvious that the powders were not going to be full size but the amounts which you do receive are very generous at around 5g of each product, only 3g less than the full sized boxes.

If you can still manage to get your hands on this set, I highly recommend it as its all you could ever need cheek wise! I just can't wait till I venture out on some travels so I can take this with me.

Tuesday Tips: Beauty Tricks

Throughout my teenage years, my Mum and Gran have always said to me 'No don't do that...don't do this!', you get the drift. So after the past 5 years listening to their words of wisdom, I am now full of plenty beauty tips and tricks. I know it's Wednesday, therefore a day late, but I thought I would get this post out to you whilst my top tips are still fresh in my mind. Some are just common sense, however few have been passed down through generations, each mother telling them to their daughters (even sons maybe).
- Remove all makeup as soon as you get home from being out and about, especially after a day in the city.
- Cleanse, cleanse, cleanse...wipes are a no no. You need to be cleansing twice a day, including a double cleanse in the evening.
- Keep those fingers away from your face, that spot will never go.
- Change your bed sheets and covers regularly, especially your pillowcases.
- Moisturise your face or any part of your body whilst still damp. The moisture will soak in a lot quicker and much better.
- When cleansing and moisturising, create circular motions on your face to help the blood circulate.
- When using heat tools, always use heat protection to cause less damage.
- Oily skin needs oil aswell.
- Apply any left over moisturiser to the back of your elbows, hands or neck.
- Washing your hair on an everyday basis will only make it even more greasy.
- Use cold water to wash your hair as hot water fades the colour away.
- Don't apply concealer directly to your skin. Use a clean finger to apply and blend in.
- Make sure not to apply nail varnish too close to the cuticle.
- Pluck your eyebrows in the direction your hairs grow.
- When sharing makeup, such as lipsticks, spray an antibacterial on it to help stop germs spreading.
- Water helps your skin the most, along with getting enough sleep.
- Wash your makeup brushes regularly, at least once a week, to prevent from spreading bacteria.
- Reduce puffy eyes or redness by splashing cold water onto that area.
- When applying eye moisturiser or under eye concealer, apply with your ring finger for less pressure.
- Before you apply a lipstick, especially a matte one, exfoliate your lips and then apply a balm to make sure your lips are well moisturised.

So there you go, all my top tips and tricks all together in one post. I tend to stick to the majority of them, with a few exception but lets just keep that between you and me aye. I hope this post has taught you a few lessons and hopefully you will be able to take them on board in your day to day hygiene regimes.
